The Channel District is home to many professional people with careers ranging from transportation and warehousing to science and technology. The majority of people commute to work with less than a thirty-minute drive.
There are two dog parks, as well as the Harbourside Animal Hospital, located in the Channel District. The City of Tampa has plans for a new public park on Madison Street. Restaurants, bars, and coffee shops are conveniently located if you don't feel like driving when you have arrived home from work. The TECO Line Streetcar System runs from Downtown Tampa and Channelside to Ybor City. The American Victory Ship Museum, Florida Aquarium, Tampa Bay History Center, and Port of Tampa are among the attractions in the Channel District. The future of the Channelside Bay Plaza is still currently uncertain. One request among people living in the Channel District is for a grocery store.
